Brenes Barva celebrated the 2016 Apertura title. They overcame Coopenae Arba 81:78 in the decisive third game of the championship series. Kay Martinez (198-G-84, college: Jackson St.) stepped up with 27 points to pace the winners.
Brenes Barva accumulated a 22:18 lead after the opening frame. They extended the margin at 5-point mark at the interval 35:30. Brenes Barva maintained the advantage throughout the second half and eked out the victory at the end. Georgio Milligan (187-PG, college: Franklin & Marshall) responded with 25 points for Coopenae Arba.

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. An interesting game for ARBA (8-1) which played road game in Grecia against one of their biggest challengers Grecia (5-3). Second ranked ARBA had an easy win 94-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Grecia. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss ofARBA (7-1) in San Jose on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Escazu (8-1) 73-66. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ARBA as it allowed them to take a leadership position.
