The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Barva (1-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Coopenae (3-0) 67-63. Coopenae have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record. Defending champion Barva dropped to the third place with one game lost. Coopenae are looking forward to face Grecia (#4) in the next round. Barva will play against Universidad Latina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Universidad Latina (0-3) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to third ranked Escazu (2-1) 92-80. Escazu moved-up to second place. Universidad Latina at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Escazu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Universidad Latina will play against Barva (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
