Very significant was Escazu's (#3, 3-1) victory against second-best Barva (2-2) 86-73. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Escazu (3-1) moved-up to second place. Defending champion Barva dropped to the third position with two games lost. Escazu are looking forward to face Grecia (#4) in the next round. Barva will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Universidad Latina (0-5) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Grecia (2-3) 82-78. Grecia maintains fourth position with 2-3 record. Universidad Latina at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Grecia will play against league's second-placed Escazu in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Universidad Latina will play against the league's leader Coopenae in San Jose and hopes to get finally their first victory.
