Very significant was Escazu's (#2, 4-1) victory against 4th placed Grecia (2-4) 73-68. Escazu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 4-1 record behind leader Coopenae. Grecia at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Escazu are looking forward to face league's leader Coopenae in San Jose in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grecia will play against Barva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LBS top team - Coopenae (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Universidad Latina (0-6) in San Jose 86-44. Undefeated Coopenae have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Universidad Latina at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Coopenae will play against league's second-placed Escazu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Universidad Latina will have a break next round.

Super Cable Grecia (LBS) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old international swingman George Letford (185-91) from Ferreteria Brenes Barva. Letford has played there for the last seven years. He helped them to win the league title (twice) (also twice). Coopeservidores Escazu (LBS) agreed terms with 33-year old international guard Kay Martinez (198-84, college: Jackson State) from Ferreteria Brenes Barva. He helped them to win the league title (twice) (also twice). Martinez was voted Latinbasket.com All-Centrobasket Honorable Mention in 2016. He has been also a member of Costa Rican international program for some years. Liberia (LBS) agreed terms with experienced 39-year old American guard Cory Bradford (191-78, college: Illinois). He started the season at GIE Maile Matrix (UBA) in the U.S. Bradford's team won Mitchell Americas Cup. He was voted Latinbasket.com All-Mitchell Americas Cup 2nd Team in 2017.
