Brenes Barva claimed the ninth National title. They edged Coopenae ARBA 75:68 in the Final. Carlos Quesada (198-C-85) stepped up with 16 points and 14 rebounds to pace the champions.
Brenes Barva jumped to an early lead. The Apertura champions grabbed a 24:16 lead ten minutes into the game. They stayed in charge throughout the second term. Brenes Barva secured a 48:35 halftime advantage. They maintained the lead throughout the third term. Brenes Barva accumulated a 61:53 lead heading into the fourth quarter. They protected the advantage and marched to the title. Jaythelv Davis (184-G-85) netted 15 points, while Kay Martinez (198-G-84, college: Jackson St.) added 10 points in the victory. Daniel Simmons (194-F/C-80) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Coopenae. Georgio Milligan (187-PG, college: Franklin & Marshall) had 14 points in the loss.

Super Cable Grecia (LBS) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old international swingman George Letford (185-91) from Ferreteria Brenes Barva. Letford has played there for the last seven years. He helped them to win the league title (twice) (also twice). Letford also represented Costa Rica at the COCABA Championships in San Jose (Costa Rica) two years ago. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 3 games: 2.3ppg. Kay Martinez joins Escazu - 6 days ago
Coopeservidores Escazu (LBS) agreed terms with 33-year old international guard Kay Martinez (198-84, college: Jackson State) from Ferreteria Brenes Barva. He helped them to win the league title (twice) (also twice). Martinez was voted Latinbasket.com All-Centrobasket Honorable Mention in 2016. He has been also a member of Costa Rican international program for some years. Liberia (LBS) agreed terms with experienced 39-year old American guard Cory Bradford (191-78, college: Illinois). He started the season at GIE Maile Matrix (UBA) in the U.S. Bradford's team won Mitchell Americas Cup. He was voted Latinbasket.com All-Mitchell Americas Cup 2nd Team in 2017.
