Costa Rica beat El Salvador 65-59 in Centroamerican Games opener. David Solorzano top-scored for the winners with 14 points and Carlos Moya posted 12. Victor Arias netted 11, whilst Marco Alvarez notched 7. Roberto Martinez (198-F) replied with 23 points in the losing effort. Jose Araujo (186-G-86, agency: Interperformances) had 12 and Julio Mancia delivered 10.

AMAURYS RIPOOL Experienced Naturalized Dominican Rep. Forward Amaurys Ripool (196-F-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best ARBA and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 8. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Escazu as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Escazu smashed 4th ranked Abogados in San Jose 90-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Abogados. Escazu forced 20 Abogados turnovers and outrebounded them 70-40 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. LBS is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 7 rounds left. Coincidentally all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.
