Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Cubans who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week''s top performance spot belongs to former international forward Georvys Elias (199-81), who plays in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Elias could not help Tenerife (4-14) to beat Lan Mobel ISB (9-9) despite his very good performance on Friday. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. But the bottom-ranked Tenerife Baloncesto lost 73-78 on the road to the higher-ranked (#8) Lan Mobel ISB. Elias is currently ninth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (second place). He has very reliable stats this year: 13.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.7apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 52.4%, 3FGP: 26.7% and FT: 53.1% in the 18 games he played so far. Elias played for the Cuban national team three years ago.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Cuban passport:

   #1. Roberto Amaro (197-F-69), who plays in the Uruguayan LUB could not help Anastasia (3-7) to beat Bigua (4-6) despite his good performance on Tuesday. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. But the fifth-placed Anastasia de Fray Bentos was crushed 95-59 at home by the higher-ranked Bigua (#4) in the Serie 2 group. The Second Stage already ended. This season Amaro averages: 8.4ppg and 5.7rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Cuban and Uruguayan.

LSB Round 8: Tigres are upset by Capitalinos - 19 hours ago
The most important game in the last round took place in La Habana between third ranked Tigres (4-4) and fourth ranked Capitalinos (5-3) on Sunday night. Tigres were defeated by Capitalinos on the road 71-61. The game was mostly controlled by Capitalinos. Tigres managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Capitalinos dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tigres' 26. Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cuban players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international center Javier Justiz (205-92, agency: Pro Sports). He was the major contributor in a Estudiantes Concordia's victory against the eighth-ranked Penarol in the Argentinian LigaA in Saturday night's game.    [read more]

Cuban LSB round 7 best performance: Andy Boffil - 7 days ago
Former international Swingman Andy Boffil (190-G/F-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Villa Clara, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. The 34-year old player was the main contributor (35 points) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Matanzas (#5, 3-4) 98-85. It allowed Villa Clara to consolidate first place in the Cuban LSB.
