Ciego de Avila is on top with 13-3 record. They beat Villa Clara 83:76.
Camaguey improved to 13-5 record after the win over Matanzas 71:50. They started with 15-8 in the first period and added 17-16 rally in the second frame. Camaguey also won the third period 18-16 and finished the game with 21-10 in the final period. Yordanis Jaca (195-PF-83) erupted with 29 points for the winners and Yohanni Baldo (191-F-89) had 9. Reiner Castillo (185-G-86) answered with 13 points in the losing effort, while Emil Rivera (202-F/C-90) and Yonimiler Diaz (195-SF-85) notched 10 apiece.
Capitalinos is third with 12-4 record after the win over Guantanamo 82:77. The latter won the first period 19-17 and added 19-16 in the second frame. Capitalinos however needed 20-14 surge in the third period and finished the game with 15-10 in the last stanza. Orestes Torres (203-C-87) stepped up with 24 points and Lisvan Valdez (195-G/F-88) added 12. Yoannis Soria (195-G/F-86) replied with 18 points in defeat and Alfred Castilla (192-G-83) scored 15.

LSB Round 8: Tigres are upset by Capitalinos - 19 hours ago
The most important game in the last round took place in La Habana between third ranked Tigres (4-4) and fourth ranked Capitalinos (5-3) on Sunday night. Tigres were defeated by Capitalinos on the road 71-61. The game was mostly controlled by Capitalinos. Tigres managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Capitalinos dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tigres' 26. Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cuban players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international center Javier Justiz (205-92, agency: Pro Sports). Former international Swingman Andy Boffil (190-G/F-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Villa Clara, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 7. The 34-year old player was the main contributor (35 points) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Matanzas (#5, 3-4) 98-85. It allowed Villa Clara to consolidate first place in the Cuban LSB.
