LSB top team - Villa Clara (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Guerreros (3-4) in Santa Clara 98-85. The game was mostly controlled by Villa Clara. Guerreros managed to win second period 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Villa Clara shot 63.6 percent from the field. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Andy Boffil (190-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!) (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Guard Neslier Abreu (187-93) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Lazro Sanchez responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds. Guerreros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Villa Clara have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Guerreros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Santiago.
Bottom-ranked Guantanamo (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to third ranked Tigres (4-3) 68-46. It was an exceptional evening for Angel Ibanez who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 steals. Carlos Villegas accounted for 9 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Elvis Pons (194-83) came up with 13 points for Guantanamo in the defeat. Guantanamo's coach Yuniel Cruz gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tigres maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader Villa Clara, which they share with Capitalinos. Guantanamo lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost.
The game in Avila supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Capitalinos (4-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Ciego (1-6). Capitalinos smashed Ciego 76-51 on Thursday. Abel Font fired 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Capitalinos' coach Rainel Panfet felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ricardo Oviedo produced 8 points for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Capitalinos. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Camaguey. Defending champion Ciego keeps the seventh position with six games lost.

In the last game of round 7 Santiago lost to Pinar del Rio on the opponent's court 67-79.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points by Karel Guzman of Capitalinos.

Villa Clara - Matanzas 98-85

Ciego de Avila - Capitalinos 51-76

The game in Avila supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Capitalinos (4-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Ciego (1-6). Capitalinos smashed Ciego 76-51 on Thursday. The game without a history. Capitalinos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ciego to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Capitalinos forced 19 Ciego turnovers and had a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. International center Abel Font (206-97) fired 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International forward Karel Guzman (188-95) chipped in 15 points. Capitalinos' coach Rainel Panfet felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Ricardo Oviedo (193-89) produced 8 points and the former international William Granda (189-85, agency: Pro Sports) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Rather expected game in Rio where 5th ranked Santiago (3-4) was defeated by second ranked Pinar (6-1) 79-67 on Thursday. Strangely Santiago outrebounded Pinar 29-16. The former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) fired 28 points and 6 steals for the winners. The former international center Elieser Quintana (205-91) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Julio Heredia (183-93) produced 22 points and 5 assists and guard Roigelis Ochoa (190-93) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pinar maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Villa Clara. Santiago at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Matanzas.

Bottom-ranked Guantanamo (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to third ranked Tigres (4-3) 68-46. The game was mostly controlled by Tigres. Guantanamo was better in fourth quarter 8-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tigres held Guantanamo to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Strangely Guantanamo outrebounded Tigres 29-12. Ciego de Avila - Santiago De Cuba 81:72 Ciego de Avila advanced to the Final as they edged Santiago De Cuba 81:72 in the decisive game 5. Ciego de Avila managed to win all the quarters of the game including 20-16 in the start. They added a 22-20 run in the second frame for a 42-36 halftime advantage. Villa Clara reach the Finals - 3 days ago
Villa Clara reached the Finals as they overcame Camaguey 3-1 in the semifinal series. In Game 4 Villa Clara posted a 94-74 win. They scored 26 points in the first two quarters for a 52-35 halftime advantage. Camaguey replied with a 23-20 rally in the third period, while Villa Clara closed the game with a final 22-16 run to seal the place in the final.
