Former international Swingman Andy Boffil (190-G/F-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Villa Clara, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 34-year old player was the main contributor (35 points) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Matanzas (#5, 3-4) 98-85. It allowed Villa Clara to consolidate first place in the Cuban LSB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Villa Clara keeps a perfect 7-0 record. In the team's last game Boffil had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Villa Clara, through which he has constantly improved. Andy Boffil has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 29.7ppg) and averages impressive 4.1spg,64.0% FGP and 44.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Lazro Sanchez of Matanzas. Sanchez had a very good evening with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Matanzas lost that game 85-98 to league's leader Villa Clara (#1, 7-0). Despite lost game Matanzas moved up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Sanchez is one of the most experienced players at Matanzas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Villa Clara's star - guard Neslier Abreu (187-G-93). Abreu scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was another key player of Villa Clara, helping his team with a 98-85 easy win against the lower-ranked Matanzas (#5, 3-4). Villa Clara have amazing season winning all 7 games without a single defeat. Abreu turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Abreu has a great season in Cuba. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (7th best) and assists with 2.6apg (4th best). He also has 4.4spg and FGP: 58.7%.
