Experienced Former international Swingman Andy Boffil (190-G/F-82) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Villa Clara and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 34-year old swingman had the game-high 27 points adding three assists for Villa Clara in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Capitalinos (#4, 5-5) 76-75. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Villa Clara to consolidate first place in the Cuban LSB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Villa Clara still have not lost a single game, getting all 11 victories. In the team's last game Boffil had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Villa Clara, through which he has constantly improved. Boffil has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 28.5ppg), assists (7th best: 2.3apg) and averages solid 5.0spg and 62.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old former international guard Yuniskel Molina (185-G-93) of Matanzas. Molina impressed basketball fans with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course Matanzas cruised to a 77-70 relatively comfortable win over Guantanamo (#7, 0-9). This victory allowed Matanzas to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Molina is one of the most experienced players at Matanzas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.1ppg (#9).

The third best performed player last round was former international forward Jasul Rivero (203-F/C-93) of Capitalinos (#4). Rivero scored 22 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Rivero's great performance Capitalinos lost 75-76 to #1 ranked Villa Clara. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Capitalinos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Rivero has a very solid season. In 4 games in Cuba he scored 9.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Elvis Pons (194-G/F-83) of Guantanamo - 19 points and 8 rebounds
5. Neslier Abreu (187-G-93) of Villa Clara - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Yosniel Moralez) of Matanzas - 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Yoanis Soria (195-G/F-86) of Guantanamo - 13 points and 5 rebounds
8. Arlen Alorda (198-F/C-86) of Capitalinos - 18 points and 13 rebounds
9. Vladimir Francis (185-PG-83) of Camaguey - 17 points and 4 rebounds
10. Raudelis Guerra (191-G-93) of Guantanamo - 18 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
