Yuniskel
Molina
Osvaldo Perez had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Villa Clara, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16.
The player had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Guantanamo (#8, 0-15) with 22-point margin 102-80. It allowed Villa Clara to consolidate first place in the Cuban LSB. Villa Clara have a solid 14-2 record. Perez turned to be Villa Clara's top player in his first season with the team. Osvaldo Perez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 5.9rpg) and averages impressive 5.2spg and 50.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Villa Clara's star - 23-year old Neslier Abreu (187-G-93). Abreu had a very good evening with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course together with Perez he helped Villa Clara with another comfortable win outscoring Guantanamo (#8, 0-15) 102-80. Of course Villa Clara still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 14 matches. Abreu is one of the most experienced players at Villa Clara and similarly like Osvaldo Perez has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international guard Yuniskel Molina (185-G-93) of Matanzas (#4). Molina scored 17 points. He was a key player of Matanzas, leading his team to a 87-45 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Santiago (#6, 5-10). Matanzas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 5 lost games. Molina has a great season in Cuba. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (8th best). He also has 3.5spg and FGP: 51.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Yoel Cubillas (204-C-94) of Villa Clara - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Elvis Pons (194-G/F-83) of Guantanamo - 22 points and 6 rebounds
6. Andy Boffil (190-G/F-82) of Villa Clara - 27 points and 4 assists
7. Raudelis Guerra (191-G-93) of Guantanamo - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

9. Yosniel Moralez) of Matanzas - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Julio Sanchez (200-F-90) of Camaguey - 10 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
