Game 1
7pm: Kubuli/Vitamalt Division 1 Maximum Building Supplies Tigers vs. The National Youth Team
In what turned out to be a very exciting game, the National Youth Team pulled off a great comeback to defeat the Tigers from Canefield by the final score of 62 points to 59. After trailing for the entire game, the Youth team tightened up their defense in the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter, forcing the Tigers team into a number of uncharacteristic turnovers, which turned the Tigers 9 point lead to start the quarter into a 3 point deficit, and also the margin of victory for the Youth Team.
It was the Youth teams captain and starting center Ramal Carbon who hit 2 clutch free throws to give his team their first lead of the game 61 to 59 with about 30 seconds left to play. After another free throw by the Youth team, Tigers trailed 59 to 62 with 15 seconds left to play, needing a three pointer to force overtime. However, the Youth team played solid defense for the entire 15 seconds, never giving the Tigers shooters any good looks, thus sealing their victory.
Top scorers for the Youth Team were Ramal Carbon with 18 points, Austen Nicholls with 13 points, and Dave Alexis with 12 points while Tony Lee had a game high of 24 points, Curtis John with 12 points, and Tyrone Brumant with 8 points for the Tigers in a losing effort.
Game 2
9pm: Kubuli/Vitamalt Division 1 NBD Original X-Men vs. EH Charles/Jollys Pharmacy Crossover
In another 1st Division game, The NBD Original X-Men got back to their winning ways by demolishing the younger and less experienced Crossover team by 41 points with the final score 84 points to 43. The Original X-Men started off the game on fire, hitting 5 three pointers in the 1st quarter alone, led by sharpshooters Damien Sorhaindo and Daryl Thomas who hit 3 and 2 respectively in the quarter.
The more experienced Original X-Men extended their lead in each of the remaining 3 quarters by clamping down on defense, spreading the court and playing great team basketball, which allowed them to get almost any shot they wanted while forcing the Crossover team into a number of turnovers and low percentage shots. The Crossover team had no answer for the Original X-Mens starting forward Daryl Thomas who scored at will both inside the paint and out. At the end of the night, the scoreboard read 84 points for the Original X-Men and 43 points for Crossover, a lopsided affair by any standards.
Top scoring for the X-Men team were Daryl Thomas with a game high of 29 points, Damien Sorhaindo with 16 points, and Robert Guiste and Tristan Lewis each with 9 points while Jamal Lloyd was the only player to reach double digits with 15 points for Crossover.
Games continue tonight with the following 2 games being played in Massacre:
Game 1-7.00pm Morne Prosper Ballers vs Element Agencies Ole Skool Game 2- 9.00pm Massacre Black Hawks vs. T.F Grand Fond Ball Tricks

The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association dedicated the game played on Saturday to the rest of the Olympic family to celebrate and participate in the organized Olympic Day activities. There were two games schedule for Saturday in the Lime National Basketball League to celebrate this activity. Regrettably the Premier game between the two teams which participated in last years championship did not take place due to failure of The Paix Bouche Eagles to field a team resulting in a forfeit and another win for the defending champions Signman X-Men.
Notwithstanding this disappointment the Police Sports Club and Paix Bouche Snipers had the responsibility, and the fans were not disappointed. The games started around 8.00pm to accommodate the loss of the second game and the Police Sports Club showed improvement by holding the Snipers at half time to a tie game 38 points to 38 points. However the Snipers, recognizing the weakness in the ball handling skills of the Police Sports Club, played a more aggressive man to man defense to which the Police had no answer. The final scores was Snipers 89 points to Police 69 points, top scoring for Snipers were Lenin Paul 27 points, Dave Alexis 22 points and Shane Ferrol 14 points while Garvin James 15 points, Kaleb Challenger 13 points and Floyd Theodore 11 points for the Police Sports Club.
In other games played on Friday in the Lime National League, Wesley Raptors maintained the perfect record and moving to 6-0 by defeating the Pichilen Pistons to bring their record to 5 1. The final scores Wesley Raptors 66 points to Pichelin Pistons 64 points, top scoring for Raptors Steve Hypolite 15 points and Devon Barton 20 points while Yanick Regis 24 points, Kijuan Thomas 18 points and Kimael Registe 11 points for the Pistons.
The second game of evening in the Domlec Premier Division suffered another forfeit game when the Marigot Sonics did not show up for the game resulting in the points being awarded to Johnson Drigo Oilers of Castle Bruce.
Games will continue this week at the Massacre Hard Courts on Wednesday. And the selectees for the national team will begin preparation on Tuesday from 7.00pm at the Lindo Park.
