Angola opened their Super 4 Cup international tournament campaign with victory. They overcame Dominican Republic in the opener. The teams stayed close throughout the first half. Angola eked out a narrow 37:35 halftime lead. Dominican Republic took over in the third term. They surged ahead and secured a 57:49 lead at the final intermission. But it was not enough. Angola recovered pretty quickly and snatched a narrow victory at the end. Olimpio Cipriano (194-F-82) topscored for Angola. Gerardo Suero (193-G-89) answered with 17 points for Dominican Republic. Jack Michael Martinez (203-F/C-81, agency: Paris Global Sports) had 14 points, while Manuel Fortuna chipped in 13 points in the loss.
