First games of the LNB Semifinals were played yesterday. Metros and Indios SF outplayed their rivals for 1-0 series lead (best-of-five). Next games are scheduled for Sunday.
Metros grabbed 94-93 overtime against Caneros getting 22 points and 5 rebounds from Demetris Nichols (205-F-84, college: Syracuse). Adris Deleon (180-G-84, college: E.Washington) followed with 17 points and 8 boards, while Victor Liz (188-G/F-88) helped with 16 points and 5 rebs. In defeat, Jose Olivero (186-PG-85, college: Lehigh) was better than the others with 24 points. Quarters: 23-18, 16-28, 27-17, 15-18, 13-12 OT.
Indios SF downed Titanes 99-83. Ollie Bailey (201-F-85, college: Oklahoma City) exploded in victory with 32 points and 5 rebounds. Robert Glenn (201-F/C-89, college: IUPUI) (6 rebs) and Richard Ortega netted 20 points each. In Titanes, Gerardo Suero (193-G-89, college: Albany) shined with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Quarters: 23-16, 26-17, 18-31, 32-19.

American Forward Terrence Shannon (203-F-79) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Indios SFM, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10. The 37-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Caneros LR (#4, 6-6) 95-93. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Round 10 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Metros STGO (8-3). They were defeated by fourth ranked Caneros LR (6-6) 116-109 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Metros STGO. Caneros LR made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Soles de Santo Domingo (LNB) inked 30-year old American guard Anthony Goods (191-91kg-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports). It is actually his comeback to Santo Domingo as he has played here before. Goods played most recently at Energa Czarni in Polish PLK league.
