Flamengo signs M.J. Rhett, ex Leones SD - Aug 14, 2017

M.J. Rhett
Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (NBB) signed 25-year old American (has also Dominican passport) power forward M.J. Rhett (206-107kg-92, college: Mississippi). He played this summer at Leones de Santo Domingo in LNB league in Dominican Republic. Rhett managed to play in six leagues in four countries last year (!!!). In 31 LNB games he had very impressive stats: 17.2ppg, 7.0rpg and 3.0apg. The last season he played at Cholet Basket in French ProA where in 10 games he recorded 7.2ppg and 3.9rpg. Rhett also played that season for Tadamon in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. In 6 games he averaged remarkable 15.2ppg, 9.8rpg, 3.5apg and 1.0bpg. The other team he played that season for was Sigal Prishtina (SuperLeague) in Kosovo. The team played in three different competitions that year, and Rhett had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 10 SuperLeague games he got 14.9ppg, 9.6rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg. He also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 14.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.5apg. Rhett also played 6 games in Balkan League where he got high stats: 17.0ppg, 9.7rpg and 1.8apg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Dominican Rep. LNB championship title in 2016. Rhett was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. LNB 2nd Team in 2016.
He has played on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Rhett has played previously professionally in Italy (Kleb Basket Ferrara), Latvia (Barons Riga) and Philippines (Blackwater).
He attended University of Mississippi until 2015 and it will be his third season as a professional player.

BC Partizan NiS Beograd (KLS) landed 25-year old American point guard Patrick Miller (185-86kg-92, college: Tennessee State). He played in the summer at Leones de Santo Domingo in LNB league in Dominican Republic. In 24 games he averaged impressive 18.2ppg, 2.9rpg and 6.3apg (top 2). Club Deportes Espanol de Talca (Liga Nacional) signed experienced 38-year old American forward Terrence Shannon (203-93kg-79, college: Elgin CC). He played last season at Indios de San Francisco in LNB league in Dominican Republic. In 2001 (two years after he left the college) Shannon was drafted by Maryland Mustangs (USBL) in third round (29th overall).
