Miami Heat tabbed 23-year old Dominican shooting guard Luis David Montero (203-93, college: South Plains JC). He is a well-known player in NBA as he played most recently at Portland Trail Blazers. But in 17 NBA games he averaged just 1.3ppg last season. Montero helped them to make it to the conference semifinals. He also played that season for another team Warriors where in four games he had very impressive stats: 16.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 3.8apg, 1.5spg and 1.8bpg.
Montero has never been drafted by the NBA.
He won NJCAA Region XV D1 championship title in 2014.
Montero graduated from South Plains College in 2015 and it will be his second season in pro basketball.
