Rebeldes de Enriquillo took the lead in the 2016 Finals of Baloncesto Superior de La Vega in the Dominican Republic, as they beat Las Fieras de La Villa, 102-101, at Fernando Teruel Arena.

Juan Miguel Suero (196-SG-93) led the winning side with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, while Maurice Sutton (211-C-89, college: Villanova) added 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Antonio Pena (204-PF-86, college: Villanova) helped with 19 points and 8 boards and Thommy Salcedo finished up with 15 points.

For La Villa, a team that's trying to win back to back titles, Peter Ramos (222-C-85) completed a double double of 35 points and 13 rebounds, Victor Liz (188-SG-86, agency: Basket Management Solutions) netted 22 points, Kelly Beidler (199-F-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 15 points and 6 rebounds and Ryan Scott (191-G-86, college: Johnson C. Smith, agency: Aspire Sports) supported them with 14 points.

Game 2 will be played on Wednesday, November 24th.

Soles de Santo Domingo (LNB) inked 27-year old American center Tony Woods (211-110kg-90, college: Oregon). He played most recently at Rilski in Bulgarian NBL league. Indios de San Francisco (LNB) added to their roster 24-year old American guard Shaun Lawton (196-86kg-93, college: Maine) from Titanes Licey in LNB. But in four games in Dominican Republic he had just 1.8ppg last season. Lawton also spent pre-season at Reales that year.
