Defending champion Hapoel Jerusalem (Winner League) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old American (has also Dominican passport) forward Ronald Roberts (203-102kg-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports). He already started the season at 36ers in Australian NBL league. The last season Roberts played at Tofas in Turkish BSL where in 10 games he recorded 11.7ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.3apg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
Among other achievements Roberts' college team won Atlantic 10 Tournament in 2014. He received also All-Atlantic 10 3rd Team award back in 2013 and 2014.
Roberts is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in four different countries. Roberts has played previously professionally in Philippines (SM Beermen), Dominican Republic, NBA (Toronto Raptors) and NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors, Delaware 87ers and Raptors 905 Missisauga).
He attended Saint Joseph's University until 2014 and it is his fourth season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A power forward with great rebounding ability ahd hustling mentality. Needs to beef up a little and to play regularly at senior level, has yet great upside.
