 El Barcelona became the Champion of the country! In the Final game the team defeated basketball club Espe 90:85. More than seven thousand spectators came to support the teams at the coliseum. Barcelona won the opening quarter 30:18, but the opponents could reduce to 48:41. Espe played even better in the second half and managed to come closer. The end of the game deserved to be the Final as the teams remained tough.

 ESPOL defeats Uruguay in an exciting game to dispute the first place of the group B for 83-80 (1OT). In the end of the regular time, Eric Cardenas (206-C-73, agency: Global Sports Plaza, college: Oklahoma Baptist) made an three points shoot to reach the advantage what Uruguay had obtained with 15 seconds remaining. This game was a massive attendance in the Colisseum of Yaguachi on last wednesday night . Currents Standings 1.- La Salle Guayaquil (A) 4 - 0 2.

 Ecuadorian import Raul Cardenas (190-G-82, college: Santa Fe CC) and his Faulkner University despite their unseeded status were able to advance to the semis of the NAIA tournament in the USA. But that was as far as it got. They fell short to Oklahoma City University 61:76 leaving their final game hopes for the next year.

 Ecuador guard Raul Cardenas (190-G-82, college: Santa Fe CC), who is playing for Faulkner University, enjoyed the starting spot in the last two games. The Eagles started February with the win over Southern Polytechnic State 71:67 at home. Raul Cardenas appeared on the court as a starting guard for the Eagles and contributed to the victory.

 The Basketball Confederation of South America (Consubasquet) started to receive applications for the 16 teams that will compete in the XI edition of South American League. The President of Ecuador Basketball Federation, Mr. Galo Vargas, announced that Ecuador will be represented by ESPE Quito, the reigning national champion. The tournment will start in February 2007, with 4 groups of 4 teams each.
