#e#6 After two weeks of negotiations, Vladimir Aguilar, nicknamed 'el Apache agreed to serve as the El Salvador National Team coach for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. The main score for Aguilar is a good behaviour at the upcoming 'Centrobasquet '08', scheduled for August in Mexico, and the gold medal at the 'Juegos Centroamericanos '09', hosted by Honduras. His assistant in National Team will be Ernesto Rodriguez and the Trainer will be Carlos Villarreal, from Colombia. | |  | Universidad Tecnologica-UTEC, with the same coach, Rodolfo Mena , but a totally different roster from the team competing in Liga Superior, triumphed in the first edition of the Liga Universitaria, run this season by the El Salvador Basketball Federation (FESABAL). In the last and decisive game Universidad Tecnologica defeated Universidad Jose Matias Delgado with 25 points of difference. With 28 points, Mauricio Lahud (176-G-84) was the main performer, followed by Eduardo Orellana and Jorge Loucel (186-F-90). The top player of 'Matias', Eduardo Aguilar (176-G-86), was limited by the good defense of the UTEC players. |

| |  | At the end of Game 3, the Liga Superior officials awarded Nathan Watson (191-G-83, agency: TASM, college: Auburn) as the league MVP, Julio Mancia (202-C-80) as the domestic MVP and Ernesto Mauro Oglivie (202-F-88) as the LSB Top Scorer. Watson joined ExSal in mid-season and added the scoring knack that allowed his team to win all the games played with him. Mancia was very effective under the boards almost all the season, and can now be considered the best inside player in El Salvador. Young Panamanian Oglivie, who has yet left the league to join Caimanes de Rio Abajo in CBS league, showed great improvements all season long and became one of the best offensive players in El Salvador. with the help of Jaime Arevalo |

| |  | Defeating Denver even in Game 3 of the Final Series, ExSal was crowned the Apertura Champion 2008. The game ended 107-90, and ExSal was quarterbacked very well by Salvador Bandek (181-G-78), who allowed all his teammates to take easy shots. Nathan Watson (191-G-83, agency: TASM, college: Auburn) was the game top scorer at 29 points, Oscar Rivera (186-G-80) added 21 pts and Dion Harper (202-F/C-74, college: Texas Arlington) 16. The aggregate result is now 2-0 for ExSal, and this team need of only another win to be crowned. Another time more, Miguel Banos (186-F/C-84) was the game top performer. The game was very close, the two teams stayed head to head all game long, and players like Oscar Rivera (186-G-80), Nathan Watson (191-G-83, agency: TASM, college: Auburn), Dion Harper (202-F/C-74, college: Texas Arlington), Jorge Loucel (186-F-90), Carlos Alas (181-G-79) gave all their best. The man of the game, however, was Miguel Banos (186-F/C-84), who led the way in ExSal with 28 points. The final score was 90-87, but it was a true fight and were needed two overtimes to find a winner. Pedro Salazar (204-C-72) and Ernesto Oglivie (-F-88) tried to lead UTEC, but were limited by the fouls.
