UTEC and San Marcos won First Division-Clausura Semifinals with a 2-0 sweep advancuing to Final Series, but it wasn' t a so easy job.
In the second, decisive game UTEC defeated Denver, 90-83 at the end of a battled game. Julio Mancia (202-C-80) led the UTEC with 22 points, followed by David Johnson (193-F-85, college: SE Missouri St.), who scored 19. Carlos Alas (181-G-79) scored 22 pts he too in losing effort, the other Denver top scorer was Bob Hunter (193-F-76) at 15 pts.
At the other side, San Marcos prevaied over ExSal in Game 2, 94-77, and Oscar Rivera (190-F-80) was anothr time more the man of the game scoring 43 points. Carlos Arias (200-F/C-89) added 20 at the winning side, Jose Miguel Torres (184-G/F-91) led ExSal with 22 pts, followed by Guillermo Ochoa (190-F-93), who scored 10 pts
The Finals start on Thursday, Nov 15 night. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday 17.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Santa Tecla. First ranked host Santa Tecla (10-1) smashed their biggest opponent Halcones (8-3) 90-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Halcones. Santa Tecla forced 25 Halcones turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Jared Ruiz's triple-double lands him Liga MB Player of the Week award - 13 hours ago
25-year old guard Jared Ruiz (188-G-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Halcones and receives a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 12. He recorded a triple-double of 24 points adding also 14 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team beat El Rapido (#9, 4-7) 100-85. Liga MB top team - Santa Tecla (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Santa Ana (6-3) 84-72. Santa Tecla forced 23 Santa Ana turnovers. It was a good game for Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Oscar Rivera (190-80) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Santa Tecla's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
