San Marcos came out winner from an hard fight in Game 1 of First Division-Clausura Finals, with a 85-83 score over UTEC. The game was tied at 72-272 at the end of regulation, and it was necessary an overtime.
San Marcos had started very well, ending first quarted ahead, 21-14 and keeping the lead until the halftime. The two teams went to the locker room with San Marcos ahead 40-30. But UTEC started a furious come back in the second half, managing to end third quarter only two points behind, 55-57, and tieing the score on 72 at the end of fourth quarter.
Ending the game at 34 points, David Johnson (193-F-85, college: SE Missouri St.) was almost unstoppable all game long, and was for sure the top performer in losing effort. The other best scorer in UITEC was Jorge Loucel (186-F-90), with 19 pts. Veteran Salvador Bandek (181-G-78) led San Marcos with 25 points, Oscar Rivera (190-F-80) added 22 and Carlos Arias (200-F/C-89) scored the last two, decisive points to claim the win for San Marcos

Halcones led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to El Rapido's 28. El Rapido - Halcones 92-91 OT El Rapido topped Halcones in overtime to even the series at 2-2. Halcones were ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 29-17 third quarter run of El Rapido. Marlon Aguilera (91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Thunder and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10. The 26-year old had a double-double of 37 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team crushed ABA (#1, 10-2) with 20-point margin 91-71.
