Chaz
Franklin
Al Arabi (SBL) agreed terms with experienced 36-year old American point guard Chaz Franklin (180-81, college: Roberts Wesleyan). He played last summer at Arcense in Salvadorean Liga MB. In 27 games he had very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 6.6apg (top 5) and 2.9spg (in top 5). A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-El Salvador Liga Mayor Torneo Clausura Honorable Mention.
Franklin won Guatemalan Asociacion de Baloncesto Atletico championship title in 2011.
He is quite experienced player. Franklin has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Bosnia, Colombia (Islanders), Finland (Ura Basket), Germany, Italy, Kuwait (Al Sahel), Venezuela and Guatemala (Amatitlan).
Franklin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
He attended Roberts Wesleyan College until 2005 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
Franklin could be described: Extremely athletic guard, with the ability to play both backcourt positions. Has ability to play above the rim. Solid ball-handler and exceptional onball defender...due to good lateral quickness and great upper body strength. Excellent penetrator, with ability to finish against taller defenders or create for others...by dishing or kicking to shooters. Great in catch and shoot situations. Rebounds extremely well for his size and plays game with grit and toughness.

Liga MB Round 24: Quezaltepeque lose to El Rapido - 5 hours ago
The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. The most important game in the last round took place in La Union between third ranked Quezaltepeque (13-6) and ninth ranked El Rapido (9-9) on Sunday night. Quezaltepeque was defeated by El Rapido on the road 78-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning strea...   [read more]

Raymond Miller claims Salvadorean Liga MB weekly honour - 5 hours ago
American Raymond Miller (204-F/C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Quezaltepeque and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 23. The 29-year old power forward had a double-double of 24 points and twenty four rebounds, while his team outclassed Giants (#12, 2-16) with 47-point margin 105-58. Quezaltepeque maintains the 3rd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games...   [read more]

Liga MB Round 23: Leader Santa Tecla gets another victory - 2 days ago
The round 23 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Leader Santa Tecla delivered the sixteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Cojute (9-10) 82-67 in Cojutepeque. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cojute. The game was mostly controlled by Santa Tecla. Cojute managed to win fourth quarter 18-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Santa Tecla looked well-organized offensively handing...   [read more]
