Guyanese Reginald Brown (202-C-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for Canarios and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 19 points and twenty nine rebounds, while his team beat San Miguel (#15, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 94-88. Canarios is placed at 5th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Canarios won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Brown just recently signed at Canarios and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Brown has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.0ppg) and assists (5th best: 1.0apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old Douglas Bairez (180-SF-88) of Quezaltepeque. Bairez impressed basketball fans with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Quezaltepeque to another comfortable win 88-69 over Sonsonate (1-1) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Bairez is a newcomer at Quezaltepeque and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Puerto Rican Luis Damian Morales (191-F-88) of Denver-FAS (#6). Morales got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Denver-FAS, leading his team to a 84-79 win against El Rapido (#8, 1-1). Denver-FAS has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Morales also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Morales as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Lawson (185-PG-89) of Canarios - 37 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Quincy Scates (197-SF-89) of Quezaltepeque - 32 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Daniel King (203-PF-87) of El Rapido - 19 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Carlos Arias (200-C-89) of Santa Tecla - 19 points and 10 rebounds
8. Manuel Guevara (186-SG-81) of El Rapido - 31 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Lisvan Valdez (200-PF-88) of Santa Tecla - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Josue Cruz) of San Miguel - 25 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
