This is still too early stage of the Regular Season in Liga MB and we should expect many changes in upcoming rounds.

Brujos Izalco defeated Denver-FAS at home 98-87. Brujos Izalco dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Denver-FAS's 34. They outrebounded Denver-FAS 44-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Brujos Izalco looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Denver-FAS's players. It was a good game for American guard Christopher Blake (197-88, college: Detroit Mercy) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Guard Ricardo Mendez (184-84) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard Anthony Brown (193-89, college: Imperial Valley JC) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for Denver-FAS. Denver-FAS will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Brujos Izalco will try to continue on its current victory against San Miguel on the road.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Santa Ana (0-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Isidro Metapan (2-0) 78-71. It was a great evening for Spanish-American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Michael Hinestroza-Javes helped adding 22 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Maliek Daniels (193-88, college: Trevecca Naz.) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. Isidro Metapan will play against Arcense (#10) in San Salvador in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Santa Ana will play on the road against El Rapido in La Union and hopes to get finally their first victory.
A very close game took place in Quezaltepeque between Quezaltepeque and Arcense. Quezaltepeque (2-1) got a very close home victory over Arcense (0-1). Quezaltepeque managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 on Tuesday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Shahmel Brackett who led the winners and scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Yordany Jaca came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for Arcense in the defeat. Quezaltepeque will meet Giants (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Arcense will play against Isidro Metapan and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
Very important is a road loss of 11 Lobos (1-1) against Brujos Izalco (2-0) on Tuesday night. Visiting 11 Lobos were defeated by Brujos Izalco in a tough game in Izalco 75-80. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was Christopher Blake who scored 26 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Brujos Izalco's next round opponent will be San Miguel (#15) on the road which should be an easy win for them. 11 Lobos will play against Santa Ana (#12) and hope to win that game.
The game between Cojute (0-2) and Canarios (2-0) in Cojutepeque on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ahuachapan outscored Cojute 108-75. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for David Lawson who led his team to a victory with 39 points (!!!), 9 assists and 7 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 3 Sonsonate beat Halcones on the road 99-93.

Cojute - Canarios 75-108

The game between Cojute (0-2) and Canarios (2-0) in Cojutepeque on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ahuachapan outscored Cojute 108-75. Canarios dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Cojute's 50. Canarios forced 21 Cojute turnovers. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for point guard David Lawson (185-89, college: Reinhardt) who led his team to a victory with 39 points (!!!), 9 assists and 7 steals. Guard Wali Hepburn (193-89, college: Lock Haven) contributed with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Canarios players scored in double figures. Kenny Demouchet (198-89, college: Jackson St.) answered with 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Anthony Calhoun (203-89, college: Western St.) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Cojute. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Halcones - Sonsonate 93-99

But Halcones were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from 99-93 on Wednesday night. Sonsonate outrebounded Halcones 83-36 including a 60-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Halcones were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Yoan Haiti who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Panamanian forward Adalberto Rojas (198-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Sonsonate players scored in double figures. American point guard Jeremee Davis (191-90, college: Georgia Coll.) answered with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import Jeffery Moss (193-93, college: Murray St.) added 27 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Halcones. Halcones' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Sonsonate will have a break next round. Halcones will play at home against Giants (#11) and look forward to get finally their first victory.

Brujos Izalco forced 23 11 Lobos turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brujos Izalco players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Christopher Blake (197-88, college: Detroit Mercy) who scored 26 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Forward Garland McArthur (197-88, college: Voorhees) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 6 blocks and point guard Thaddeus Fauntleroy (180-89, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 24 points and 9 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brujos Izalco's next round opponent will be San Miguel (#15) on the road which should be an easy win for them. 11 Lobos will play against Santa Ana (#12) and hope to win that game.

El Rapido de La Union (Liga MB) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old Cuban power forward Arlen Alorda (198-105kg-86). He played in the summer at Capitalinos in Cuban LSB league.
