Reginald
Brown
American Center Reginald Brown (202-C-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Canarios, receiving a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 23 rebounds, while his team outclassed 11 Lobos (#8, 2-2) with 36-point margin 103-67. Canarios is placed at 3rd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Canarios already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Brown just recently signed at Canarios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Reginald Brown has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 18.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 23.0rpg), assists (3rd best: 2.7apg) and averages impressive 51.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Olaniyr Adedoyin of Denver-FAS. Adedoyin had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 21 rebounds. Of course Denver-FAS cruised to a 89-77 relatively comfortable win over Arcense (#11, 0-3). This victory allowed Denver-FAS to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 2-1 record is not bad and everything may still change. Adedoyin is one of the most experienced players at Denver-FAS and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Marc Montavious (206-C-90) of 11 Lobos (#8). Montavious scored 17 points and grabbed twenty three rebounds (!!!). Despite Montavious' great performance 11 Lobos lost 67-103 to the league's current leader Canarios (#3, 3-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing 11 Lobos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Montavious has a great season in El Salvador. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 25.8rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Adalberto Rojas (198-F-86) of Sonsonate - 26 points and 14 rebounds
5. Jordan Johnson (183-PG-92) of San Miguel - 41 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Oreste Torres (204-PF-87) of Santa Tecla - 27 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
7. David Lawson (185-PG-89) of Canarios - 36 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Michael Hinestroza Javes (208-F-90) of Isidro Metapan - 19 points, 20 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Teodoro Romero) of Arcense - 27 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Wali Hepburn (193-G-89) of Canarios - 30 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Joe Reid
Reid's double-double lands him Liga MB Player of the Week award - 4 days ago
Forward Joe Reid (200-F) had a great game in the last round for Arcense and receives a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 24. He had a double-double of 50 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed Santiagueno (#13, 2-16) with 22-point margin 129-107. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Arcense maintains the 10th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently...   [read more]

Liga MB Round 24: Quezaltepeque lose to El Rapido - 5 days ago
The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. The most important game in the last round took place in La Union between third ranked Quezaltepeque (13-6) and ninth ranked El Rapido (9-9) on Sunday night. Quezaltepeque was defeated by El Rapido on the road 78-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning strea...   [read more]
