The round 9 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

Bottom-ranked Giants (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to twelfth ranked Cojute (2-4) 99-86 on Sunday evening. Cojute looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Giants helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and point guard Jeffrey Quintanilla (-99) chipped in 10 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was American guard Macari Brooks (190-92, college: Pikeville) with 36 points (!!!), 7 assists and 5 steals. Cojute moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Giants at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Arcense. Cojute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Giants will play at home against Brujos Izalco (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.

American point guard Danny Lawhorn (183, college: Midwestern St.) came up with 41 points (!!!) and 7 assists for Arcense in the defeat. Arcense's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santa Ana moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Arcense at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Giants. Santa Ana will play against higher ranked Denver-FAS (#7) in San Salvador in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arcense will play at home against 11 Lobos (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 9: El Rapido lost to Halcones on the opponent's court 87-98. Sonsonate managed to outperform San Miguel in a home game 78-71. Denver-FAS recorded a loss to Quezaltepeque on the road 102-93.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points and 9 rebounds by Nduka Ezeamii of San Miguel.

Halcones - El Rapido 98-87

Everything could happen in Sonzacate at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Halcones and 8th ranked El Rapido had identical 2-3 record. This time Halcones used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from La Union 98-87. Halcones forced 23 El Rapido turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. El Rapido was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jeremee Davis (191-90, college: Georgia Coll.) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import Jeffery Moss (193-93, college: Murray St.) accounted for 25 points and 14 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Eddie Ishman (196-86, college: Miles) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds and Panamanian Manuel Guevara (186-81) added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for El Rapido in the defeat. Halcones (3-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Denver-FAS. El Rapido lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Halcones will play against league's second-placed Quezaltepeque at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. El Rapido will have a break next round.

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Sonsonate (5-1) defeated at home 11th ranked San Miguel (2-5) 78-71. They outrebounded San Miguel 57-41 including a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Panamanian forward Manuel Gudino (195-95) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and American-Panamanian forward Adalberto Rojas (198-86) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sonsonate's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Nduka Ezeamii (203, college: Avila) came up with 26 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jordan Johnson (183-92, college: Tenn Tech) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for San Miguel in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sonsonate have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Quezaltepeque and Isidro Metapan. San Miguel at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Denver-FAS (3-3) was defeated on the road by third ranked Quezaltepeque (5-1) 102-93. Quezaltepeque outrebounded Denver-FAS 49-36 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American Quincy Scates (197-89, college: Tenn Wesleyan) nailed 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Douglas Bairez (180-88) accounted for 22 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Four Quezaltepeque players scored in double figures.
