The game between third ranked Isidro Metapan (6-2) and ninth ranked Cojute (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Isidro Metapan was edged by Cojute in a tough game in Cojutepeque 66-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Isidro Metapan. Cojute forced 22 Isidro Metapan turnovers and outrebounded them 57-40 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Anthony Moe (206, college: Millersville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners and his fellow American import guard Brandon Golden (193, college: Midwestern St.) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals. At the losing side Spanish-American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Cojute have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. Isidro Metapan at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Quezaltepeque. Cojute are looking forward to face higher ranked Quezaltepeque (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Isidro Metapan will play against Sonsonate and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Giants managed to get a 0th victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses. They edged seventh-ranked Canarios in San Salvador 95-92. And what about a 0th win in a row after ...seven consecutive losses. Guard Luis Escoto (180-96) nailed 27 points, 9 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and Macari Brooks accounted for 18 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Wali Hepburn (193-89, college: Lock Haven) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for Canarios in the defeat. Giants maintains fifteenth place with 0-7 record. Canarios lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Denver-FAS. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
12th ranked 11 Lobos (2-6) were defeated at home by eleventh ranked El Rapido (2-5) with the biggest margin this round 68-64 on Sunday night. Manuel Guevara fired 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. Joseph Antoine produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds for lost side. Despite that victory El Rapido went down to twelfth position due to points difference. 11 Lobos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Santa Ana. El Rapido will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. 11 Lobos will play against Denver-FAS (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 13 San Miguel lost to Halcones on the opponent's court 45-49.

Cojute - Isidro Metapan 68-66

However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory.
