Liga MB top team - Santa Tecla (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Giants (0-9) in San Salvador 89-69. They outrebounded Giants 52-36 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santa Tecla looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for center Carlos Arias (200-89) who led his team to a victory with 8 points and 15 rebounds. Naturalized American point guard Robert Martinez (185-91, college: Our Lady Lake) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. American guard Macari Brooks (190-92, college: Pikeville) answered with 25 points and 6 rebounds for Giants. Undefeated Santa Tecla have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Giants at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Santa Tecla are looking forward to face Santa Ana (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Giants will have a break next round.

However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for Wali Hepburn who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals. Teodoro Romero came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 19 rebounds for Arcense in the defeat. Canarios maintains seventh place with 5-4 record. Arcense lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Canarios will meet Denver-FAS (#9) in the next round. Arcense will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 15 San Miguel was beaten by El Rapido on the road 81-66. Arcense lost to Brujos Izalco on its own court 72-77.
The most impressive performance of 15th round was 22 points and 19 rebounds by Garland McArthur of Brujos Izalco.

Santa Ana - Halcones 79-104

The game between 13th ranked Santa Ana (2-7) and fourth ranked Halcones (7-3) in Santa Ana ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Sonzacate outscored Santa Ana 104-79. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Halcones. They maintain fourth place with 7-3 record. Santa Ana lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Halcones' next round opponent will be Cojute (#8) in Cojutepeque. Santa Ana will play at home against the league's leader Santa Tecla (#1) and hope to win that game.

Sonsonate - Giants 89-77

Canarios - Arcense 83-81

Fourteenth-ranked Arcense (1-9) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Canarios (5-4) in Ahuachapan on Thursday. Canarios managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. Canarios forced 24 Arcense turnovers. Strangely Arcense outrebounded Canarios 66-42 including a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Wali Hepburn (193-89, college: Lock Haven) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals. His fellow American import point guard David Lawson (185-89, college: Reinhardt) accounted for 31 points for the winning side. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. El Rapido - San Miguel 81-66

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked El Rapido (3-5) beat 10th ranked San Miguel (3-6) in La Union 81-66. El Rapido dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to San Miguel's 26. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. 28 personal fouls committed by San Miguel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Eddie Ishman (196-86, college: Miles) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Panamanian Daniel King (203-87, college: Texas Southern) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jordan Johnson (183-92, college: Tenn Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Josue Cruz added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. El Rapido moved-up to tenth place. San Miguel at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. El Rapido's next round opponent will be higher ranked Sonsonate (#6) and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Miguel will play against Isidro Metapan (#3) and hope to win that game.

Very expected game when 14th ranked Arcense (1-9) lost to second ranked Brujos Izalco (8-1) in San Salvador 72-77. Brujos Izalco outrebounded Arcense 55-32 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Garland McArthur (197-88, college: Voorhees) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import center Travis Elliott (203-91, college: Beth.-Cookman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Danny Lawhorn (183, college: Midwestern St.) who recorded 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Cuban Yordany Jaca (195-83) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively.
