Wali Hepburn
27-year old guard Wali Hepburn (193-G-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Canarios and receives a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 22.
He had a double-double of 36 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed Quezaltepeque (#5, 8-6) with 20-point margin 106-86. Canarios is placed at 7th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Canarios is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-6 record. In the team's last game Hepburn had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Canarios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lock Haven University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hepburn is in league's top in points (4th best: 28.3ppg) and averages solid 2.4bpg and 2.1spg.

Second best performed player last round was Yoan Haiti of Sonsonate. He is a in his first season at Sonsonate. In the last game Haiti recorded impressive double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Sonsonate to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Santa Ana (#13, 3-11) 97-65. Sonsonate's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Haiti is one of the most experienced players at Sonsonate and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Marc Montavious (206-C-90) of 11 Lobos (#11). Montavious scored 13 points and grabbed twenty seven rebounds (!!!). Despite Montavious' great performance 11 Lobos lost 77-80 to the lower-ranked Giants (#15, 1-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of 11 Lobos not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Montavious could try to bring 11 Lobos' a little bit higher in the standings. Montavious has individually a great season in El Salvador. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 21.7rpg (#1 in league). He also has 4.4bpg and FGP: 51.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Eddie Ishman (196-F-86) of El Rapido - 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Quincy Scates (197-SF-89) of Quezaltepeque - 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Reginald Brown (202-C-91) of Canarios - 21 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Jonathan King (198-F/G-90) of Sonsonate - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
8. David Lawson (185-PG-89) of Canarios - 35 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Daniel King (203-PF-87) of El Rapido - 18 points, 21 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Duane James (196-F-83) of Isidro Metapan - 23 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
