David Lawson
American David Lawson (185-PG-89) had a great game in the last round for Canarios and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 27-year old playmaker had the game-high 51 points adding three assists for Canarios in his team's victory, helping them to beat Brujos Izalco (#2, 13-3) 99-94. Canarios maintains the 5th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Canarios will need more victories to improve their 10-6 record. In the team's last game Lawson had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Canarios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Reinhardt College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Lawson is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.4ppg. Lawson is in league's top in and averages solid 2.3spg and 63.0% FGP. Worth to mention Lawson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American forward Garland McArthur (197-F-88) of second-ranked Brujos Izalco. McArthur impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 29 rebounds. Bad luck as Brujos Izalco lost that game 94-99 to the lower-ranked Canarios (#5, 10-6). Brujos Izalco managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. It was just his team's 3rd loss this season, while they won 13 other games. McArthur is one of the most experienced players at Brujos Izalco and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Scott Sill (206-F-92) of Cojute (#7). Sill got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for fourteen rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Cojute, leading his team to a 110-74 easy win against the lower-ranked San Miguel (#14, 3-12). Cojute needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Sill has a great season in El Salvador. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.2rpg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nate Drayton (203-F-91) of Quezaltepeque - 25 points and 21 rebounds
5. Danny Lawhorn (183-PG) of Arcense - 39 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists
6. Louis Birdsong (198-F-88) of Arcense - 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Duane James (196-F-83) of Isidro Metapan - 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Anthony Moe (206-F/C) of Cojute - 27 points and 19 rebounds

10. Brandon Golden (193-G) of Cojute - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
