Bottom-ranked Giants managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Tuesday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Quezaltepeque 96-92. The best player for the winners was American guard Macari Brooks (190-92, college: Pikeville) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward James Milton (203, college: Stevenson) chipped in 23 points and 18 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Quincy Scates (197-89, college: Tenn Wesleyan) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Giants (3-14) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with San Miguel. Quezaltepeque at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Giants is looking forward to face higher ranked Santa Ana (#12) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quezaltepeque will have a break next round.
Leader Santa Tecla delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked 11 Lobos (6-10) 96-76. It was a good game for Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Lisvan Valdez contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. American center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 24 rebounds for 11 Lobos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. 11 Lobos at the other side keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Santa Tecla will play against El Rapido (#8) in La Union in the next round and are hoping to win another game. 11 Lobos will play at home against Canarios and hope to get back on the winning track.

Other games of round 27 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Denver-FAS was defeated by El Rapido in La Union 75-63. Isidro Metapan beat Arcense at home 89-77. San Miguel was destroyed by Brujos Izalco on the opponent's court 114-94.

Santa Tecla - 11 Lobos 96-76

Leader Santa Tecla delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked 11 Lobos (6-10) 96-76. Santa Tecla players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Cuban Lisvan Valdez (200-88) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. American center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 24 rebounds and point guard Alexander Ruano (170-85) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for 11 Lobos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. 11 Lobos at the other side keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Santa Tecla will play against El Rapido (#8) in La Union in the next round and are hoping to win another game. 11 Lobos will play at home against Canarios and hope to get back on the winning track.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in La Union where 9th ranked Denver-FAS (8-9) was defeated by tenth ranked El Rapido (8-8) 75-63. El Rapido forced 19 Denver-FAS turnovers. It was a good game for Panamanian Daniel King (203-87, college: Texas Southern) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Panamanian Manuel Guevara (186-81) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American Thomas Alexander (197, college: Arkansas Tech) answered with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Cuban Lisvan Valdez (200-88) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Denver-FAS. El Rapido moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Cojute. Denver-FAS at the other side dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. El Rapido will play against league's leader Santa Tecla on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Denver-FAS will have a break next round.

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Isidro Metapan (13-4) defeated at home 12th ranked Arcense (4-13) 89-77. Isidro Metapan made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Arcense's players. It was a good game for American forward Keion Palmer (208, college: Jacksonville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds. Spanish-American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. James is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Isidro Metapan players scored in double figures. American forward Louis Birdsong (198-88, college: George Mason) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Brandon Thompson (193, college: Huston-Tillotson) added 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds in the effort for Arcense. Arcense's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Isidro Metapan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-4 record having four points less than leader Santa Tecla. Arcense at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Santa Ana. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Very expected game when 14th ranked San Miguel (3-14) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Brujos Izalco (14-3) 114-94. Brujos Izalco dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to San Miguel's 32. They outrebounded San Miguel 53-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. Brujos Izalco players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Garland McArthur (197-88, college: Voorhees) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Christopher Blake (197-88, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Brujos Izalco's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Jordan Johnson (183-92, college: Tenn Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Nduka Ezeamii (203, college: Avila) added 22 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks in the effort for San Miguel. Five Brujos Izalco and four San Miguel players scored in double figures. Brujos Izalco maintains second place with 14-3 record having just three points less than leader Santa Tecla. San Miguel lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. They share it with Giants. Brujos Izalco will again play against bottom-ranked San Miguel (#15) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. San Miguel will have a break next round.
