Guard Brandon Golden (193-G) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cojute and receives a Latinbasket.com Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 28.
He got a double-double of 32 points and 12 assists, while his team outclassed Sonsonate (#8, 9-9) with 30-point margin 110-80. Cojute is placed at 6th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Cojute is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-8 record. In the team's last game Golden had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Cojute, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Midwestern State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Golden is in league's top in points (8th best: 25.5ppg) and averages solid 3.6spg and 50.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Anthony Moe (206-F/C). He is American forward in his first season at Cojute. In the last game Moe recorded impressive double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds. Of course together with Golden he helped Cojute with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Sonsonate (#8, 9-9) 110-80. This victory allowed Cojute to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Moe is one of the most experienced players at Cojute and similarly like Brandon Golden has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.2ppg (#9). He also registered 13.2 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Joseph Antoine (203-PF-84) of 11 Lobos (#11). Antoine got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for seventeen rebounds and four assists. Despite Antoine's great performance 11 Lobos lost 93-96 to the higher-ranked Canarios (#5, 11-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of 11 Lobos not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Antoine could try to bring 11 Lobos' a little bit higher in the standings. Antoine has a very solid season. In 15 games in El Salvador he scored 18.3ppg.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Liga MB Round 12: Top-ranked Santa Tecla wins another game - 3 hours ago
Liga MB top team - Santa Tecla (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Santa Ana (6-3) 84-72. Santa Tecla forced 23 Santa Ana turnovers. It was a good game for Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Oscar Rivera (190-80) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Santa Tecla's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaywuan Hill (ex ExSAL ST) joins Thang Long Warriors - 4 hours ago
Thang Long Warriors (VBA) added to their roster 28-year old American power forward Jaywuan Hill (203-102kg-89, college: SW Baptist). He played this summer at ExSAL Santa Tecla in Salvadorean Liga Superior. In 5 games he had very impressive stats: 32.0ppg, 15.4rpg, 2.8apg, 2.8spg and 3.4bpg. Hill also played that season for Cojute (Liga MB) in Salvadorean league where in only one game he recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. Simeon Howard agreed terms with Cojute - 6 days ago
Club de Baloncesto Cojute (Liga MB) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old American swingman Simeon Howard (193-86kg-92, college: Greensboro). He played in the summer at High Point Heat (TRBL) in the U.S. Among other achievements Howard's team made it to the South Tournament Semifinals in 2016.
