The coaching staff of the Argentinean U16 national team led by Marcelo Germanetto named the 12 finalists for the FIBA Americas Championship to be played in Mendoza on June 17-21. This tournament is a qualifier for the FIBA U17 World Championship to be played next year.

FINAL USA - Canada 77-60 USA celebrated the FIBA Americas Championship title. They edged Canada in the championship game in Bahia Blanca. The victory marked the third straigth title for Team USA. Jarred Vanderbilt (203-F/C-99) tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds to pace the champions. Canada got to a terrific start. SEMIFINALS USA - Argentina 119-76 Team USA claimed the fourth consecutive victory at the FIBA Americas tournament. They rallied past Argentina to book their Final appearance. Seven players scored in double digits for the winners. Markus Howard (185-G-99) and Jordan Brown (206-C-99) delivered 16 points each for the USA. Group A USA - Brazil 123-83 Team USA stayed untamed at the FIBA Americas tournament. They cruised past Brazil to clinch the top position in Group A. Wendell Carter (206-C-99) came up with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the winners. Team USA erupted for 36 points in the second frame to gain a 63:32 halftime lead.
