USA deservedly earned the title at U18 Fiba Americas Championship. They registered the fifth win in a row at the tourney to claim the Gold medals. USA overcame hosting Brazil in Sao Sebastian. Julius Randle (203-F-94) stepped up with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners. USA quickly started the game building a 24:16 lead. USA - Brazil 81-56 USA deservedly earned the title at U18 Fiba Americas Championship. They registered the fifth win in a row at the tourney to claim the Gold medals. USA overcame hosting Brazil in Sao Sebastian. Julius Randle (203-F-94) stepped up with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners. USA quickly started the game building a 24:16 lead. Brazil managed to slow down their opponents in the second quarter. The hosts cut the deficit to 6 points at halftime 31:37. But the North American team took over once again in the third term. They went on a 10:0 run in the third term to boost the lead to 18 points. Julius Randle was pivotal in the second half for the USA. He scored 14 points to help the team clear off. USA entered the fourth frame up by 16 points and never looked back on the way to the victory. Jarnell Stokes (203-PF-94) delivered 11 points, while Marcus Smart accounted for 10 points in the win. Arthur Fernandes (182-PG-95), Lucas Dias (205-C-96) and Matheus Pereira had 11 points each for Brazil.

Canada - Argentina 68-66 Canada celebrated Bronze medals at the U18 Fiba Americas Championship in Brazil. They held off Argentina in an exciting consolation final clash. Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-G-94) stepped up with 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the winners. Canada eked out a narrow 17:15 lead after the first quarter. They stayed aggressive defensively and were able to protect the lead in the second frame. Canada ensured a 29:25 halftime advantage. Canada boosted the gap in the third quarter. The North American team entered the final quarter up by 6 points. Canada led by as many as 10 points in the fourth period but Argentina went on a 10:2 run to cut the distance to two points. They had a chance to tie things up but missed it and Canada escaped with a narrow victory at the end. Andrew Wiggins (202-F-95) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds for Canada. Duane Notice had 11 points in the victory. Gabriel Deck (199-F/C-95) replied with 23 points for Argentina. Lucas Gonzalez chipped in 9 points in the loss.

Mexico - Puerto Rico 75-73 Mexico finished their U18 Fiba Americas Championship campaign on a high note. They claimed a tough two-point win over Puerto Rico. Jose Estrada (190-G-94) came up with 28 points to lead the winners. Puerto Rico got to a strong start. They eased to a 23:12 lead ten minutes into the game. But Mexico responded almost immediately. They went on a 24:13 run in the second quarter to draw things level at 36. Mexico slowly regained the lead. They fired 25 points in the third quarter to accumulate a 6-point lead before the fourth term. Puerto Rico worked hard to deny the deficit but Mexico hung on to snatch a difficult win at the end. Gabriel Vazquez (94) chipped in 13 points, while Kevin Lagunas produced 11 points and pulled down 15 boards in the win. Jerome Caraballo (95) replied with 13 points for Puerto Rico. Wilfredo Rodriguez netted 11 points in the losing effort.

U.S. Virgin Islands - Colombia 77-52 US Virgin Islands clinched the 7th position at the U18 Fiba Americas Championship. They defeated Colombia on the final day of the tournament to claim the spot. Khalid Hart (198-SF-95) stepped up with 20 points and 9 rebounds to pace the winners. Virgin Islands held their opponents to just 5 points in the first quarter. The Islanders grabbed an 11-point lead. They stretched the margin to 17 points at halftime 30:13. Colombia improved offensively in the third quarter. They knocked down 25 points but Virgin Islands easily matched the effort scoring 26 to enjoy an 18-point lead before the fourth quarter. Virgin Islands maintained the lead throughout the final period and celebrated a well-deserved win. Justin Gray (198-F) accounted for 17 points, while Kyle Hodge had 10 points in the win. Tony Trocha (206-C/F-94) answered with 20 points for Colombia. Brian Angola netted 15 points in the loss.

The hosts held off previously undefeated Canada in the semifinal battle to set up an exciting clash versus the USA for the crown. Deryk Ramos (185-G-94) accounted for 18 points to lead Brazil to the crucial win. Canada got to a trademark strong start. They overwhelmed the hosts to build a 23:18 lead after ten minutes. Brazil however quickly reacted and went on a 21:12 run to take a 39:35 halftime lead. Canada stiffened their defence and held Brazil to only 7 points in the third term. The North American team entered the final quarter up by 5 points. But Brazil dominated the final minutes. They outscored Canada 20:11 and sealed the victory at the end. Lucas Dias (205-C-96) provided 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Arthur Fernandes netted 10 points in the win. Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-G-94) answered with 21 points for Canada. USA - Argentina 107-72 USA advanced into the title game at the U18 Fiba Americas Championship. They fired past Argentina to post the fourth straight win at the tournament. Seven US player scored in double figures in the victory. Julius Randle (203-F-94) posted 15 points in the winning effort. USA set the tone early in the game. They erupted for 29 points in the opening ten minutes to take a 12-point lead. USA maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They posted a 53:38 halftime lead. USA dominated after the big break. They ensured a 23-point lead with one quarter to go. The North American team did not slow down in the final quarter and rallied to a comprehensive win at the end. Rasheed Sulaimon (193-G-94) notched 14 points, while Shaquille Goodwin added 13 points in the victory. Ignacio Moreno (197-F-94) answered with 15 points for Argentina. Pedro Barral and Gabriel Deck had 11 points apiece in the loss.

Colombia - Mexico 82-85 Mexico registered victory over Colombia in the classification round of U18 Fiba Americas Championship. They will now take on Puerto Rico for the fifth place. Colombia will face Virgin Islands in the 7th-8th place game. Colombia gained a 21:17 lead ten minutes into the game. They maintained it throughout the second quarter. Colombia enjoyed a 44:39 halftime lead. Mexico however cut the deficit in the third term. They got within a single point at the final intermission 63:64. Mexico pulled their noses in front in the final quarter and they managed to protect a narrow lead to escape with the win at the end. Jose Estrada (190-G-94) accounted for 21 points for Mexico. Abel Miranda (94) added 13 points for the winners. Tony Trocha (206-C/F-94) answered with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Colombia. Brian Angola netted 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and issued 5 assists in the loss.
U.S. Virgin Islands - Puerto Rico 68-71 Puerto Rican U18 National Team posted the first win at the Fiba Americas Championship in Sao Bernardo. They held off Virgin Islands in the classification round. Wilfredo Rodriguez (94) scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the winners. Puerto Rico will now take on Mexico in the fight for the fifth place. Virgin Islands got to the better start. They established a 19:12 lead at the first intermission. Puerto Rico cut the distance to get within 3 points at the interval 34:37. Puerto Rico surged ahead in the third quarter. They posted a 53:50 lead with ten minutes remaining. The teams went neck and neck throughout the final quarter. Puerto Rico however survived the challenge and eked out the initial win at the end. David Rosado (94) posted 14 points, while Abdiel Badillo contributed 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Khalid Hart (198-SF-95) answered with 26 points for Virgin Islands. Kyle Hodge and Rasheed Swanston netted 10 points each in the loss.
