ISV - US Virgin Islands National Team prepares for FIBA-Americas U18 Championship for Men - Jun 21, 2010

The US Virgin Islands U18 national team has 15 finalists preparing for the 2010 FIBA-Americas U18 Championship for Men to be played in San Antonio, Texas from June 26-30. All the games of this tournament will have live video streaming on www.fibaamericas.com.

This team won the Bronze medal at the Centrobasket U17 Championship for Men played in Mexico. This is the first time since 1974 that the US Virgin Islands won a medal at this age group. In that tournament the best scorer for the USVI was Aaron Brown (193-G-92) who averaged 22.8 points per game.

The 15 finalists for this team are:

USA celebrate title in Valdivia - 1 Year ago
FINAL USA - Canada 99-84 The USA repeated as FIBA Americas champions. They overcame their North American rivals Canada in the title game in Valdivia. Markelle Fultz (195-SG-98) stepped up with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the champions. The USA eked out a narrow 48:44 halftime lead.
