Canada Basketball unveiled the official roster for the 2010 of the Junior Mens National Team (JMNT) that will compete in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship June 26-30 in San Antonio, TX. The talented line-up includes elite players like 62 guard, Myck Kabongo (Toronto, Ont.) who is currently ranked #2 in North America by ESPU for the class of 2011; and Sim Bhullar, an athletic 74 centre from North York, Ont.

I am extremely excited about the group we have selected for the FIBA America tournament, said Greg Francis, Head coach of Canadas Junior Mens National Team. We have a squad that will be able to push the tempo and play aggressive defense. We have a challenging pool but I believe our group will be able to challenge for a trip to the worlds. '

The FIBA Americas U18 Championship showcases the best players aged 18 years and younger from eight countries in the Americas zone (North, South, and Central). Canada, assigned to Pool A, along with Uruguay, Puerto Rico and Brazil, will open the tournament on June 26 (1:00 p.m. local time) against Uruguay. All matches will be broadcast via the internet on http://www.fibaamericas.com/.

The format for the FIBA Americas U18 Championship is as follows: two pools of four teams will participate in the preliminary round. The top two countries in each pool will advance to the semi-finals, with the top two competing in the gold medal match. All four semi-finalists will qualify for the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship.
