United States 87-Brazil 64 (May 18+10reb, Adams 15, Tucker 10, Morrison 10, Villanueva 8, Paul 7, Gray 6, Wright 6, Shakur 6, Withers 1; Toledo 22, Caio 11, Luis Felipe 11, Douglas 9, Ricardo 5, Paulinho 4, Marcao 2)

The USA overcame a slow start to defeat Brazil in their first real game of the tournament, following last night's forfeit win over Venezuela. With the game tied 33-33 late in the second quarter, the US embarked on an 8-2 run to take the lead into the locker room, then outscored Brazil 21-10 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Excellent defense held the Brazilian duo of Paulinho and Caio, who combined for 51 points against Puerto Rico, to just 15 points on 4-17 shooting.
