Mexico - Puerto Rico 91-89
Mexico are the 2013 FIBA Americas champions! They defeated Puerto Rico in the title game in Caracas. Gustavo Ayon (209-F/C-85, agency: Duran International, college: San Jose St.) stepped up with 20 points and 16 boards to pace the winners. He was named the MVP of the tournament. Mexico recorded a 26:18 lead after the opening quarter. Puerto Rico answered with an aggressive offense in the second term. They erupted for 27 points and cut the deficit 3-point mark at the interval 45:48. Puerto Rico took over in the third term. They denied the deficit and pulled ahead. Puerto Rico ensured a 5-point lead heading into the fourth frame. But Jovan Harris (191-G/F-81, college: USF) knocked down 7 points early in the final stanza to put Mexico back in charge. Paul Stoll and Gustavo Ayon stepped up for Mexico in the key moments and gave them a late lead. Galindo had a chance to save the game for Puerto Rico but he missed a late triple. Jovan Harris finished with 23 points, while Lorenzo Mata (205-C-86) added 14 points for the winners. Carlos Arroyo (188-PG-79, agency: Interperformances, college: FIU) responded with 23 points for Puerto Rico. Jose Juan Barea (181-PG-84, college: Northeastern) had 20 points in the defeat.

Dominican Republic - Argentina 93-103
Argentina earned the victory over Dominican Republic in the consolation final at the FIBA Americas Championship. Facundo Campazzo (179-PG-91) stepped up with 31 points and 11 assists to lead the winners. Argentina fired on all cylinders right from the start. They knocked down 26 points in the opening quarter and gained a 6-point lead. Dominican Republic cut the deficit in the second term. The Caribbean team tied things up at 45 after twenty minutes. Argentina eked out a 69:68 lead after three quarters of action. Argentina erupted for 34 points in the final stanza and sealed the victory at the end. Luis Scola (206-F/C-80) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Juan Gutierrez (205-F/C-83) added 17 points for the winning side. Edgar Sosa (190-PG-88, college: Louisville) answered with 20 points for Dominican Republic. Jack Michael Martinez (201-F-81) had 17 points and 18 rebounds in the defeat.
