Eddie Casiano has been announced as the new head coach of the Mexican National Team. The Puerto Rican specialist will prepare Mexico to the FIBA Americas Championship. The event will be held in Monterrey at the end of August. The tournament will serve as the qualifying event for the 2016 Olympic Games. Eddie Casiano has worked with Indios de Mayaguez in Puerto Rico lately. Previously he guided Halcones Rojos and Lajas. He was named All-Mexican LNBP Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014.

Argentina - Mexico 78-70 Argentina topped Mexico to advance into the Fiba Americas championship. The victory also booked the Olympic Games birth for the winners.
