The Draw for the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship was held in Nuevo Leon, Mexico yesterday. The ten teams were drawn into two groups with five teams in each. The teams will play for the two qualifying tickets to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Group A: Panama, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Uruguay
Group B: Canada, Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

In the first phase of the championship, the teams will play a Round-robin format within the group. At the conclusion of the five match-days, the top four teams from each group will advance to the next round. In the second phase, teams that have advanced are brought together in one group and will face the four teams that were part of the other group in the preliminary round. The top four teams in this group advance to the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will play for the gold medal, while the other two teams will play for the bronze.

FINAL Venezuela - Argentina 76-71 Venezuela wrapped up their impressive Fiba Americas Championship rally with the victory over Argentina in the Final. Argentina - Mexico 78-70 Argentina topped Mexico to advance into the Fiba Americas championship. The victory also booked the Olympic Games birth for the winners.
