Venezuela wrapped up their impressive Fiba Americas Championship rally with the victory over Argentina in the Final. Heissler Guillent (186-PG-86, agency: Enlace Deportivo) delivered 15 points to lead Venezuela to the historic first ever Fiba Americas title. Argentina posted a 20:13 lead after the opening frame. But Venezuela held their opponents to just 8 points in the second period and grabbed a 30:28 halftime lead. Argentina unloaded 24 points in the third term to regain the advantage. But Venezuela turned things around in the fourth quarter. They spurred ahead for a 63:58 advantage. Venezuela held on to the lead in the dying minutes and raced to the victory. John Cox (194-G-81, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) netted 14 points, while Windi Graterol (204-C-86, agency: Pro Sports) added 11 points for the winners. Andres Nocioni (202-SF-79, agency: AAI Sports) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds for Argentina.

Canada - Mexico 87-86
Canada celebrated Bronze medals at the Fiba Americas Championship. They nipped hosting Mexico in the consolation final. Cory Joseph (190-PG-91, college: Texas, agency: Klutch Sports Group) hit a buzzer-beater to propel the North American team to the victory. Andrew Nicholson finished with 20 points to lead the winners. Mexico eked out a 41:40 halftime lead. They dropped 23 points in the third quarter to take a 4-point lead. But Canada unloaded 27 points including a late jumper from Joseph to ice the victory. Andrew Wiggins had 18 points, Brasy Heslip added 12 points for the winners. Marco Ramos (198-F-87, college: Grand Canyon, agency: You First) responded with 19 points for Mexico. Paul Stoll (180-PG-85, agency: Assist Sports) and Gustavo Ayon (207-C/F-85, college: San Jose St., agency: Duran International) added 16 points each in the loss.
