Blancos de Rueda Valladolid (ACB) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old Jamaican ex-international forward Patrick Ewing Jr. (203-108kg-84, college: Georgetown). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Ewing Jr. already started the season at Telekom Baskets in German BBL league. In 12 games this season he recorded 11.5ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.8apg. He also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he averaged 7.8ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.7apg. The last season Ewing Jr. played at Iowa Energy in D-League. In 19 games last year he averaged 8.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg. He also played at Sioux Falls Skyforce in D-League earlier that season. In 11 games he averaged 10.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.8apg and 1.1spg. The other team Ewing Jr. played that season for were the Hornets in NBA. In 11 games he averaged 10.1ppg, 4.3rpg and 2.7apg. The most of previous (2010-11) season he spent at Bighorns in D-League. In 25 games that year he averaged impressive 15.7ppg, 8.4rpg, 3.2apg, 1.6spg and 1.2bpg. Great season indeed as he was voted to USBasket.com All-D-League 2nd Team and to the All-Star Game. Another team Ewing Jr. played that season for were the Knicks in NBA.
In 2008 he was drafted by Sacramento Kings (NBA) in second round (43rd overall). Ewing Jr. attended Georgetown University and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as His team won Big East Regular Season for two years in a row (2007 and 2008). Ewing Jr. also represented Jamaica at the Centrobasket in San Juan (Puerto Rico) last year. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 8.8ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.7apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 34.4%, 3PT: 29.2%, FT: 71.4%.
Ewing Jr. has played previously professionally in NBA (New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks) and D-League (Reno Bighorns).

RYAN REID St. John's Edge (NBL Canada) tabbed 31-year old Jamaican ex-international power forward Ryan Reid (204-107kg-86, college: Florida State). He played most recently at Shimane Susanoo Magic in Japanese B2 League. In 63 games he averaged 8.2ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.2apg last season. Reid helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. Granville Jaguars and Catherine Hall All-Stars made winning starts to the Jamaica Basketball Association's National Basketball League-Western Conference with wins over new- comers Cornwall Courts Chargers and Inner-city Avalanche, respectively, at Montego Bay Cricket Club on Sunday.
