Flamengo claim the title in Rio de Janeiro - Mar 23, 2014

Flamengo - Pinheiros/Sky 85-78
Flamengo clinched the Liga Americas title. They outgunned Pinheiros/Sky in front of 8000 spectators in Rio de Janeiro. Marcelo Magalhaes (201-SG-75, agency: Interperformances) scored 24 points to pace the winners. Flamengo unleashed 25 points in the first frame and grabbed a 10-point lead. Pinheiros/Sky narrowed the gap in the second frame. They got within 6 points at the interval 46:40. Pinheiros/Sky kept clinching closer in the third term. They trimmed the deficit to a single point at the final intermission 61:60. But Flamengo unloaded 24 points in the final term and sealed the winning outcome. Meynisse delivered 18 points, while Vieira added 14 points for Flamengo. Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80, agency: Interperformances, college: USF) responded with 25 points for Pinheiros/Sky. Babby Araujo had 17 points in the defeat.
3-4 Place
Aguada - Halc.Xalapa 113-108
Aguada clinch third spot at the Liga Americas. The teams traded baskets and the lead on the scoreboard during the first half of the set. Aguada managed to win the first period 36:29 and added massive 30-15 surge in the second frame. Aguada was accurate and continued its offensive with many passes, while on defense they caused problems on the Mexican teams offense. Xalapa looked better on offense and decreased the lead of Aguada to 8 points, while Aguada stayed tough and grabbed 5-point total win. Leandro Garcia Morales (188-PG-80, college: Texas A&M) erupted with 42 points for the winners and Jeremis Smith (203-F-86, college: Georgia Tech) nailed 23. Morales Gonzales Pablo Daniel followed them with 22 points. Adam Parada (213-C-81, college: Cal-Irvine) answered with 28 points in a loss and Mendez Orlando Homero poured in 20.
