Quimsa - Toros 97-45
Quimsa cruised past Toros to open win count in Group B. The hosts dominated from start to finish. They recorded a 33:21 halftime lead. Quimsa followed with a stunning 31:12 run in the third term to boost their lead. Quimsa never looked back afterwards coasting to the win. David Jackson (195-G-82, college: Penn St.) stepped up with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Nicolas Romano (200-F-87) added 12 points and 8 boards in the victory. Bruno Sundov (221-C-80) answered with 12 points for the Nicaraguan team.

Bauru - Marinos 84-82
Bauru outlasted Marinos as the defending champions got to the winning start of their 2016 campaign. Rafael Hettsheimer (206-C-86) posted 18 points to lead the Brazilian team. Bauru posted a 39:35 halftime lead. Marinos dropped 25 points in the third term to get within two points. But Bauru stayed in charge throughout the final period and marched to a tough starting victory in Group B. Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-93) delivered 16 points for the winners. German Gabriel (207-C-80) responded with 23 points and 14 rebounds for Marinos. Jose Vargas (195-G/F-82, agency: Pro Sports) had 13 points in the defeat.

FINAL Guaros - Weber Bahia 88-65 Guaros de Lara repeated as Liga Americas champions. They knocked down Weber Bahia in the title game. Zach Graham (198-G-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) notched 20 points to lead the Venezuelan team. Guaros eked out a 22:20 lead ten minutes into the game.
