American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-G-82) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Halc.Xalapa, receiving a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Lechugueros (#12, 5-10) with 22-point margin 122-100. It allowed Halc.Xalapa to consolidate first place in the Mexican LNBP. Halc.Xalapa has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Hickerson had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Halc.Xalapa's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of the Cumberlands star has very solid stats this year. Hickerson is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.4ppg) and averages impressive 66.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old American Kentrell Gransberry (206-C-85) of Soles. Gransberry had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he lead Soles to another comfortable win 88-75 over the lower-ranked Guerreros (#13, 4-11) being unquestionably team leader. Soles' 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 11-4 record is not bad at all. Gransberry is a newcomer at Soles, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jerome Habel (208-F-85) of Barreteros (#8). Habel scored 23 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Barreteros, leading his team to a 101-96 win against the lower-ranked Corr.Victoria (#11, 7-8). Barreteros needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Habel has a very solid season. In 12 games in Mexico he scored 17.8ppg. He also has 6.7rpg, 1.7bpg and FGP: 57.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rodney Alexander (201-F-87) of Corr.Victoria - 27 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Babacar Camara (211-C-81) of Lechugueros - 28 points and 8 rebounds
6. Antonio Garcia (203-F/C-76) of Panteras - 17 points and 16 rebounds
7. Orlando Mendez-Valdez (185-G-86) of Halc.Xalapa - 22 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists
8. John Ruffus (207-F/C-81) of Gigantes - 29 points and 3 rebounds
9. Eugene Phelps (198-F) of Abejas - 19 points and 10 rebounds
10. Jonathan Smith (206-F-82) of Osos - 20 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
