Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-F-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for Soles, receiving a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 37.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (39 points, six rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Osos (#14, 6-31) with 36-point margin 94-58. Soles maintains the 4th position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Soles will need more victories to improve their 28-9 record. In the team's last game Horne had a remarkable 84.6% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Soles' top player in his first season with the team. Jamelle Horne averages this season 21.7ppg and 6.1rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old American Brandon Robinson (202-F-81, agency: Paris Global Sports) of Corr.Victoria. Robinson had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he lead Corr.Victoria to another comfortable win 96-81 over the higher-ranked Toros (#2, 29-8) being unquestionably team leader. Corr.Victoria's 11th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-22 record. Robinson is a newcomer at Corr.Victoria, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Eugene Phelps (198-F) of Abejas (#9). Phelps showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Phelps' great performance Abejas lost 103-107 to the higher-ranked Halc.Xalapa (#1, 33-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Abejas needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 19 victories and 18 lost games. Phelps has a great season in Mexico. After 33 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 8.7rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jermaine Johnson (201-F-85) of Gigantes - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Kevin Sowell (190-G-81) of Halc.Xalapa - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Hector Hernandez (206-F-85) of Pioneros - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Jason Horton (188-G-86) of Barreteros - 20 points and 8 assists
8. Edward Basden (196-G/F-83) of Huracanes - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Michael Lizarraga (200-F-89) of Soles - 20 points and 10 rebounds
10. Marcus Morrison (198-G/F-84) of Huracanes - 28 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
