Puerto Rican Ricardo Melendez (179-PG-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Panteras and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 29-year old playmaker had the game-high 53 points adding two rebounds for Panteras in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Gansos (#15, 6-33) with 32-point margin 126-94. Panteras maintains the 5th position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Panteras will need more victories to improve their 26-12 record. In the team's last game Melendez had a remarkable sixteen three-pointers out of 24 attempts. He turned to be Panteras' top player in his first season with the team. Melendez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 26.2ppg) and averages solid 53.7% FGP and 42.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American forward Brandon Robinson (202-F-81, agency: Paris Global Sports) of Corr.Victoria. Robinson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Corr.Victoria lost that game 89-102 to the higher-ranked Fuerza Regia (#7, 23-15). Corr.Victoria managed to keep the same 11th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-23 record. Robinson is a newcomer at Corr.Victoria and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was former international center Adam Parada (213-C-81) of top-ranked Halc.Xalapa. Parada scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Halc.Xalapa, leading his team to a 91-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Lechugueros (#12, 12-26). Halc.Xalapa confirms their top position in the standings Parada has a very solid season. In 33 games in Mexico he scored 6.4ppg. He also has 4.3rpg and FGP: 59.7%.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Andrea Costa Imola (Serie A2) signed 29-year old American power forward Jeremiah Wilson (205-100kg-88, college: Tarleton State). He played this summer at Rayos de Hermosillo in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 24 games he had 13.7ppg, 9.2rpg (#5 in the league) and 1.4apg. Wilson helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. Soles de Mexicali (LNBP) signed American swingman Manny Hernandez (190-95kg, college: Lynchburg). He played this summer at Pioneros de Los Mochis in the CIBACOPA. In 21 games he had 12.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.6apg in 2016 season. LNBP will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Panteras de Aguascalientes (LNBP) inked 33-year old Venezuelan coach Ronald Guillen. He coached most recently at Marinos in Venezuelan LPB league. Guillen also coached for Guaros (also in LPB) that season. His team won InterContinental Cup.
