Jerome Habel
27-year old forward Jerome Habel (208-F-85) had a great game in the last round for Barreteros and receives a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 39.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Huracanes (#8, 22-17) 95-93. Barreteros maintains the 10th position in Mexican LNBP. Barreteros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 17-22 record. Habel turned to be Barreteros' top player in his first season with the team. San Diego State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Habel is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 8.2rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 62.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kentrell Gransberry (206-C-85) of Soles. He is American center in his first season at Soles. In the last game Gransberry recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Soles to edge the lower-ranked Abejas (#9, 19-20) by 6 points 92-86. Soles' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 30-9 record is not bad at all. Gransberry is a newcomer at Soles and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Ricardo Melendez (179-PG-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) of Panteras (#5). Melendez got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He was a key player of Panteras, leading his team to a 91-88 win against the lower-ranked Corr.Victoria (#11, 15-24). Panteras needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 27 victories and 12 lost games. Melendez has a great season in Mexico. After 37 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.2ppg (2nd best). He also has FGP: 53.7% and 3PT: 42.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. LeRoy Hickerson (196-G-82) of Halc.Xalapa - 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Marcus Morrison (198-G/F-84) of Huracanes - 34 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Noe Alonzo (200-F-83) of Halc.Rojos - 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Isaac Gutierrez (204-C-84) of Halc.Rojos - 14 points and 10 rebounds
8. Ike Ofoegbu (205-F-85) of Toros - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
9. O'Louis McCullough (198-G/F-82) of Osos - 29 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Cyrus Tate (203-F/C-85) of Huracanes - 24 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
